Five years ago, Stig Bakken committed the first few lines of PEAR code (DB.php). Today, PEAR has matured and assumed a greater significance in the world of PHP programming. PHP Magazine takes this opportunity to salute the wonderful developers behind PEAR and the unwavering community. We also take this occasion to commit ourselves to supporting PEAR, through the years to come, via our prominent and focussed coverage of PEAR in the magazine, the PHPBarnstormer, and through the common platform we provide for core developers to meet and network, year after year (infact twice a year), via the International PHP Conference.
