I've just checked the new PHP, but only on win32 platform. Apache v2.55 + PHP v5.1.1 + MySQL v5.0.16 (mysqli.dll).
It seems to be working nearly with the same performance as Apache v2.55 + PHP v5.0.5 + MySQL v5.0.15 (mysqli.dll) + eAccelerator.
I think it's very cool
